EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Woodford Folk Festival is a magical experience formed on a vision of creative and inclusive community tradition and culture that has been passed down from generation to generation through ceremony and story.

Held at Woodfordia - a 500 acre sub-tropical wildlife paradise north of Brisbane - the festival is the largest gathering of performers, musicians and artists in Australia. Over 125,000 visitors discover a mesmerising world offering a eclectic and diverse range of entertainment from concerts, dance shows and night cabarets to street theatre, workshops and poetry competitions.

The Woodford Folk Festival program features performances ranging from traditional folk groups to contemporary artists. The Ampitheatre is the main stage area, where visitors can catch the major artists, along with the Welcome Ceremony and Fire Event. Relax in the natural grass surrounds of the Grande Big Top stage, which hosts musical styles including classical, solo, rock, pop and folk music.

The Children's Festival is a festival within a festival, offering youngsters from around 1 to 12 years a variety activities and entertainment highlighted by arts and crafts, workshops, performances, face painting and sing alongs.

Bars, stalls, cafes, restaurants, parades and street threatre line the festival laneways, with leafy-green camping grounds, native wildlife, butterfly walks and ponds adding to the atmosphere.
